This Conflicts of Interest Policy applies to all journals published by the International Academic Research Consortium (IARCON). All IARCON journals adhere to this policy to ensure transparency, impartiality, and integrity throughout the editorial, peer review, and publication process. This policy is developed in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest are appropriately disclosed and managed so that editorial decisions are based solely on the scientific quality, originality, and ethical standards of submitted manuscripts.
Author Disclosure
All authors are required to disclose any relationships or interests that could influence, or reasonably be perceived to influence, the design, conduct, analysis, interpretation, or reporting of their research.
Conflicts of interest may include, but are not limited to:
If no conflicts of interest exist, authors should include the following statement in their manuscript:
The authors declare that they have no conflicts of interest.
Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment. Reviewers should decline to review a manuscript if a conflict could compromise, or reasonably appear to compromise, their objectivity or impartiality.
Reviewers must not use confidential information obtained during the peer review process for personal, academic, or financial advantage.
Editor Responsibilities
Editors and Editorial Board members must disclose any conflicts of interest related to manuscripts under consideration. Editors with a conflict of interest must recuse themselves from the editorial handling and decision-making process. In such cases, responsibility for the manuscript will be assigned to another qualified editor.
Editorial decisions shall be based solely on the scientific merit, originality, methodological quality, ethical compliance, and relevance of the manuscript.
Funding Disclosure
Authors must disclose all sources of financial support for the research and clearly describe the role of the funding organization, if any, in the study design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, manuscript preparation, or publication decision.
Management of Conflicts
When a conflict of interest is identified, the journal may implement appropriate measures to preserve the integrity of the editorial process. These measures may include:
Failure to Disclose
Failure to disclose a relevant conflict of interest may constitute publication misconduct. If an undisclosed conflict is identified before or after publication, the journal may take appropriate editorial action, including requesting corrections, publishing an Expression of Concern, retracting the article, or notifying the authors' institutions, in accordance with COPE guidance.
Confidentiality
All conflict of interest disclosures submitted to the journal will be handled confidentially and used solely for editorial assessment and publication purposes.
Commitment to Transparency
IARCON and all its journals are committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and public trust in scholarly publishing. Authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial staff are expected to disclose relevant conflicts of interest honestly and comply with this policy. Any concerns regarding undisclosed conflicts will be investigated in accordance with COPE recommendations and ICMJE guidance to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
