In the present study, a descriptive-analytical method is used to compare international experiences in constitutional review and review relevant constitutional court decisions and constitutional provisions. The study finds that constitutional review is a necessary mechanism to safeguard public rights and liberties by requiring the legislative and executive branches to adhere to the constitution and avoid passing laws that infringe upon the rules of basic human rights or the rule of equality. It further demonstrates that the effectiveness of the constitutional review rests on the independence of the constitutional judiciary and the knowledge of people of their constitutional rights.
</article-meta></front><body /><back /></article>
