This study assesses parental knowledge, perceptions and preventive practices regarding flat foot and its effects on children’s mobility in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh and explores demographic factors influencing awareness. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional survey of 540 parents was conducted in Kangra from Jan to March 2025, using a structured questionnaire on socio-demographics, flat foot knowledge and management practices. Knowledge levels were classified as Exemplary (≥80%), Satisfactory (60%-79%), Acceptable (41%–59%) or Inadequate (&amp;lt;40%). Statistical analyses examined demographic associations with knowledge scores. Results: Parents showed moderate awareness, with 38.1% achieving "Exemplary" and 37.8% "Satisfactory" knowledge. While 86.3% identified flat foot as a structural issue and 82.4% recognized supportive footwear as beneficial, gaps persisted: only 66.7% understood its impact on gait and 64.2% knew to avoid tight shoes. Rural and less-educated parents exhibited lower awareness. Conclusion: Despite fair knowledge, significant deficiencies in recognizing flat foot’s implications and preventive measures highlight the need for targeted parental education and pediatric orthopedic outreach in Kangra to enhance children’s mobility and well-being.
</article-meta></front><body /><back /></article>
