Material and Methods: A comprehensive literature review and analysis of various resistance mechanisms, including intrinsic and acquired resistance, gene transfer, and the role of efflux pumps and enzymatic destruction. Observations and results: The complexity of resistance mechanisms and the rapid evolution of resistant strains.  Discussion: The research emphasizes the need for rational drug use, stringent infection control practices, and robust antimicrobial surveillance.
