Disparities in training methodologies and healthcare structures may impact CPR proficiency among medical officers, particularly in regions marked by diverse topography. This study focuses on the unique healthcare milieu of Himachal Pradesh, nestled in the Himalayas, to comprehensively evaluate the CPR knowledge and skills of medical officers. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted from July 2023 to October 2023, involving 100 medical officers in Himachal Pradesh. A Google form questionnaire assessed theoretical and practical CPR knowledge, employing a scoring system categorized as very good, good, fair and poor. Data analysis utilized Epi Info V7 Software, applying descriptive statistics. Results: Respondents exhibited commendable understanding of the primary goal of CPR (94% correct responses), yet variations were observed in the "Chain of Survival" components (71%) and the significance of early defibrillation (32%). Robust knowledge regarding compression aspects was noted (58% correct responses). However, gaps persisted in compression-ventilation ratios (56%). The study identified areas for improvement in AED utilization and rescue breaths. Comparison with Indian studies revealed consistent challenges, advocating for targeted interventions. Conclusion: While Himachal Pradesh's medical officers demonstrate an overall strong CPR knowledge base, specific gaps require focused training interventions. Consistency with challenges identified in Indian studies emphasizes the need for tailored educational programs. Implementing successful strategies from global and Indian contexts can ensure uniformly robust CPR proficiency, enhancing emergency response capabilities.</abstract></article-meta></front><body /><back /></article>
