In Himachal Pradesh, concerns have arisen regarding the dietary habits of school-going adolescents. This study aims to evaluate knowledge regarding healthy dietary habits and snacking patterns among school-going adolescents in Himachal Pradesh. Methods:&amp;nbsp;A cross-sectional survey was conducted in the entire state of Himachal Pradesh between April and July 2023. A sample of 400 school-going adolescents was surveyed using a Google Form questionnaire, covering socio-demographic data and 20 knowledge-related questions on healthy dietary habits. Data analysis was performed using Epi Info V7 Software. Results: Of the 400 respondents, 30.25% had very good knowledge, 38.25% had good knowledge, 17.25% had fair knowledge, and 14.25% had poor knowledge regarding healthy dietary habits. Key findings included 74.5% correctly identifying the importance of a balanced diet, 69% naming three essential food groups, and 54% recognizing the benefits of adequate water intake. However, knowledge gaps were identified in recommended fruit and vegetable servings, sugary drink limitations, and whole grain intake. Conclusion:&amp;nbsp; This study highlights varying levels of knowledge among school-going adolescents in Himachal Pradesh regarding healthy dietary habits. While awareness exists in certain areas, opportunities for improvement remain, especially in aspects like fruit and vegetable servings and limiting sugary drinks. Targeted educational interventions are recommended to enhance dietary knowledge and promote healthier eating habits among adolescents in the region.
</article-meta></front><body /><back /></article>
