The event had unique position in the history of the 1804 Jihad and the subsequent emergence of Gwandu Emirate. The territory served as a military base from where the Jihad activities were carried out between 1805 and 1809. The historic event further gave birth to new Islamic system of governance in the territory of Kebbi Kingdom and the establishment of Sokoto Caliphate.</abstract></article-meta></front><body /><back /></article>
