The article explores the nuances incorporated into novel law “On Investments and Investment Activities” and it touches examining the dispute resolution mechanism. Moreover, the article also investigates the experiences of foreign countries in terms of building innovative approaches as to resolution of investment disputes with foreign investors and promoting foreign direct investment. In addition to this, the article also analyzes the Uzbek Government desire to cooperate with various economic-trade unions and initiatives, namely the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) and presupposes about possible investment disputes that can arise out of Uzbekistan’s participation in such joint economic and trade alliances. In conclusive part, the paper summarizes future legal challenges that Uzbekistan might face in the light of its cooperation with above-mentioned organizations and unions as well as it shares certain proposals as to various aspects of future ISDS policy of Uzbekistan.
