The effect of the methanol extract of M. exotica leaves was investigated using a modified method of Lee and White assay for blood clotting in vitro. There was significant decrease (p˂0.05) in human blood clotting time (6.16±1.883 min) in samples treated with 0.006 g of the M. exotica compared to the control clotting time (7.82±1.279 min). Also 0.036 g of the M. exotica significantly (p˂0.05) increased human blood clotting time (10.89±1.276 min) compared to control while the blood samples treated with 0.012 g and 0.024 g of plant extract showed no significant difference in the human blood clotting time. M. exotica plant extract have a biphasic effect on the human blood clotting time.</abstract></article-meta></front><body /><back /></article>
