The difficulties inherent in managing an emergency department are amplified in the pediatric population. We present a 13-year-old boy's case of ileum perforation etc penetrating abdominal trauma. He had collapsed while setting up the tractor to plough the fields, and the iron in the machine's handle stabbed him in the stomach. Stabbing wounds to the abdomen were concealed by the omentum. He showed signs of peritonitis. Perforation of the ileum was discovered during laparatomy exploration of the abdomen. We performed a primary ileum repair by excising and suturing the perforation in the ileum. Postoperative recovery was unremarkable. There were no difficulties during the five-day follow-up period.
</article-meta></front><body /><back /></article>
