The research was done at the registred farmer field at Balangoda secretariat division in Sri Lanka during the period of May to October 2020. Rice variety at 362 was used for this experiment. 1% ZnSO4,&amp;nbsp;2% ZnSO4,&amp;nbsp;1% CaCl2, 2% CaCl2,&amp;nbsp;1% KNO3, 2% KNO3,&amp;nbsp;1% KCl, 2% KCl were used as halo-primed seed treatments.Water is used as the control treatment. Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was used as an experiment design with three replicates. As growth parameters total leaf area, number of leaves, number of tillers per plant, plant height and shoot dry weight were measured. Filled grain percentage, panicle weight, the effective number of panicles, thousand grain weight, total grain yield According to the results, among all osmopriming techniques, seed halo-primed seeds showed higher performances in all measured growth and yield parameters compared to hydro-priming treatment (control). Among them, halo-primed with 2% KNO3 solution reported the highest leaf area/plant (1319.0±10.38 cm2), number of leaves (45.7±1.2), number of tillers (15.7±0.3), filled grain percentage (51.0±3.10%), 1000 grain weight (16.9±0.13g) and total yield (9.0±0.34 tons/ha) compared to hydro priming. Therefore, this study concludes that seed osmopriming with 2% KNO3&amp;nbsp;be employed for better crop growth and yield of rice.
</article-meta></front><body /><back /></article>
