In this case, what does local governance look like, which is a management method that aims to transfer power to local populations with a view to achieving economic and political development that is led by the populations themselves? In order to respond to this concern, we interviewed, using semi-structured individual interviews, resource persons in the communes of Alépé, Bouaké and Guiglo. These interviews revealed that local governance is weak in these municipalities because the municipal authorities keep populations away from the management process of their municipality and local development projects. Thus, we are witnessing a weakening of local governance and a centralization of local power in a country where decentralization has been implemented for several decades.
</article-meta></front><body /><back /></article>
