Courses a negative impact on the vegetation cover, agriculture and rearing of animals. The aim of this paper was determined community participation in afforestation and their level of empowerment. The data was collected from one hundred and sixty respondents. Regression analysis and ANOVA was used to determine the relationship between participation and community empowerment, and the deference between level of empowerment and participation respectively. The findings of the study had shown that community empowerment was highly correlated with their participation in afforestation programme&amp;nbsp;(r = 0.274* with p&amp;lt;0.05). This means that, as a result of participating in afforestation programme, Toshia community has enhance their control over issues that affect their lives and developed skill of planning and implementation of such a programme independently.&amp;nbsp;</abstract></article-meta></front><body /><back /></article>
